Simone, It didn’t take you long to see the demons in the sand. My heart and soul is drained from everything you wrote about. My min is so tired of thinking tactics to open peoples eyes. Yes, there are many of us and yes nature will take back what humans have destroyed and when that happens we all will suffer from the greed of profit before people and nature. Simone, this area that you will be monitoring is perfect. Our sea turtle friends REALLY need someone who has the compassion and love to take charge of the beaches that are mismanaged by people who don’t care. This is something I have always wanted to do but live to far from nest sites. Looking forward to your new adventure!

Oh Simone,I’m happy for you and sad at the same time. It is not going to be a pleasant come back to the beautiful GoM you have always loved. I know how much you love connection to the ocean but please be careful. I hope your move goes smoothly and looking forward to helping how ever I can in your projects here on the coast.

I definitely agree with your thoughts and have attempted to make my own personal goal to practice 5forEarth!!! It sounds easier than it actually is, which makes it even more important for people to realize we CAN do this, DAILY!! Thank you for putting your thoughts into ACTION and it is my sincere hope that people around the globe can find that this “simple” goal could be the answer to our Mother Earth’s protection!!

I feel such concern and compassion for our fishermen and women. Their lives are spent closer to the marine resources than any of us and thus they are affected deeply by not only the actual resource itself (water quality, shrimp, crab, oyster and fish quality) but physically they have been affected greatly by the toxins released by the crude oil and dispersants. I am horrified that BP could settle out of court and get away with the rape and pillage they are committed here.

I THINK THIS NEEDS TO BE FORWARDED TO MR. FEINBERG, LIFE FOR THE PEOPLE THAT DEPEND ON OUR GULF COASTAL WATERS TO MAKE A LIVING SHOULD HAVE BEEN AT THE TOP OF HIS LISTS OF PEOPLE TO FOLLOW UP ON , AND SEEN THAT THEY WERE WELL COMPENSATED…NOT ONLY FINANCIALLY, IT GOES WITHOUT SAYING….NO ONE REALLY KNOWS THE LONG TERM ISSUES THAT WE ALL MAY ENDURE, …………THE MENTAL IMPACT OF ALL THIS IS DEALT WITH ON A DAILY BASIS, AMONGST EACH OTHER…….AND IT WILL CONTINUE TO BE THIS WAY, UNTIL WE ARE ALL NOTHING BUT PART OF A DEAD….HISTORY….JUST PART OF SOMEONES STORY……THANKYOU FOR THIS ARTICLE, YOU CAN TELL IT’S BEING TOLD BY SOMEONE WITH A HEART…..<3 AND BLESSINGS TO ALL!

I was raised as a shrimper daughter and I ate gulf seafood my whole life! It saddens me to see this has happen to our fisher men and shrimpers! I eat gulf seafood and yes I worry but I support my Bon Secour families all the way!!!
